Vaginal Infections

Boric Acid 600 mg Pessaries

Effective for recurrent or resistant vaginal thrush, especially non-albicans Candida species like C. glabrata, which often don\’t respond to standard azole antifungals. Use of Boric Acid 600mg Pessaries is supported by both research and guidelines, and are included as a standard treatment formula in the Australian Pharmaceutical Formulary (APF) Typical dosing:

  • Acute: 600 mg intravaginally once daily at night for 7-14 days
  • Maintenance: 600 mg intravaginally 2-3 times weekly

Precautions:

  • Not for oral use (toxic if ingested)
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy
  • Avoid use on open wounds or ulcers
  • Not suitable for patients with known boric acid sensitivity

Other Antifungal Pessary Options

Triple-Strain Probiotic Vaginal Pessaries

Our triple strain probiotic pessaries are designed to support and maintain healthy vaginal flora, helping to prevent and manage:

  • Bacterial vaginosis (BV)
  • Yeast infections (VVC)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Each pessary contains:

  • L. crispatus – dominant strain in a healthy vaginal microbiome; strongly protective against BV and STIs
  • L. gasseri – produces lactic acid and bacteriocins that suppress pathogens
  • L. fermentum (Limosilactobacillus fermentum) – supports both BV and Candida control

These strains work synergistically to mimic the body’s natural defence system by lowering vaginal pH, enhancing immune function, and restoring balance.
